Astier de Villatte Atelier de Balthus Candle
Astier de Villatte Atelier de Balthus Candle
Founded in 1996, Astier de Villatte has crafted a whimsical and exotic world that could only be dreamt up in arrondissements of Paris. Its collection of fragrances are named after far-flung regions - evoking the essence of place and the nostalgia of travels not yet taken.
These luxe candles are crafted from natural vegetable wax and carefully scented with pure soy oil. They're hand poured into simple glass jars and paired with a cotton wick. Each candle is finished with a label, printed by France's last remaining typesetter and featuring a unique image representative of the location it's meant to evoke. Approximately 60 hours burn time.

Scent: In the painter’s studio, all covered in wood panelling, time seems suspended. Through the big bay window overlooking green altitude meadows, the Northern light pours her powdery rays all over brushes, palettes, tubes, paint pots, sketched canvasses and rags still wet with linseed oil. The air is fragrant with the heady smell of turpentine mixed with lovely wisps of smoke, honey, woods, tobacco and cedar wood.
